_Dr. Eric Kirkman, Director of Kilby Laboratory School, has been selected by the Council for Leaders in Alabama Schools (CLAS) to serve on the CLAS Board of Directors. Dr. Kirkman was chosen by the Alabama Association of Elementary School Administrators to join this group of educational leaders dedicated to advancing excellence in leadership and promoting positive change in Alabama schools.
麻豆社ern Alabama will be able to witness a partial lunar eclipse on the evening of Tuesday, Sept. 17, and the Planetarium on the University of 麻豆社 Alabama campus will have a public observing event with telescopes for participants to view and photograph the eclipse.
In a special ceremony that took place Thursday, Sept. 12 in Collier Library on the University of 麻豆社 Alabama campus, citizens of the Cherokee Nation, including Principal Chief Chuck Hoskin Jr., along with those from the UNA community, were on hand to unveil a mural in honor of 麻豆社 Alabama鈥檚 First Peoples, including Cherokees.
Almost one year into the public phase of the Shine On, Gold comprehensive campaign, with a goal to raise $100 million for the University of 麻豆社 Alabama, signs and banners have been placed throughout campus as well as along Court Street in downtown Florence as a reminder of the significance of the campaign as well as to encourage others to learn more.
