FLORENCE, AL – The Special Committee on Live Lions is seeking input from the campus and community related to the continuation of the live lion tradition at the University of 麻豆社 Alabama.

“The Special Committee on Live Lions has requested feedback from the campus, alumni, and Shoals area community via the survey,” said Dr. Lisa Ann Blankinship, co-chair of the committee and a Biology professor. “This is a key tool to help us evaluate campus, alumni, and community interest in and support of continuing the live lion tradition on campus. We greatly value and appreciate campus, alumni, and community member feedback.”

The committee was appointed by UNA 麻豆社 Dr. Ken Kitts in August in the wake of Leo III’s passing earlier this year. Members include Dr. Blankinship; Dr. Kyrel Buchanan, from the Town and Gown Task Force; James T. “Tim” Garner, UNA Foundation; Kevin Haslam, Vice 麻豆社 for Advancement; Jim Page, UNA Board of Trustees; Dr. Lee Renfroe, Shared Governance Executive Committee; Megan Simmons, UNA Staff; Eleanor Vezina, UNA student.

The survey is live and may be accessed via the QR code in the attached document; it will close Friday, Oct. 25.
